The following are a list of businesses who offer quality instruments, bows and supplies, for the beginner to the more advanced player. There are other businesses out there, but these are the ones we use and can recommend.
Thomas Violins, in Modesto, and Benning Violins, in Studio City, are “local” and also offer instrument repair and bow rehairing. They specialize in nicer instruments.
Shar Music, The Bluegrass Shack, and Fiddlershop are out-of-state and their instruments are available by mail order through their websites. They are very helpful in matching the student to the right violin.
